AFFING – 10 October 2018 – Important industry award goes to ABUS: The wAppLoxx access control system is a ‘Winner’ at the GIT SECURITY AWARDS in Category D, ‘Access, Intrusion and Perimeter Protection’. As a nominee, ABUS pushed past a large number of submissions in the preliminary stage and brought the award home from the Security trade fair in Essen.

One of today’s best access control systems is the wAppLoxx from the security experts at ABUS. It has won numerous awards, including the iF Product Design Award 2017, the Plus X Award as ‘Best Product Of The Year 2016/2017’ and now the distinction of ‘Winner’ at the GIT SECURITY AWARDS 2019. From 1 July to 24 August 2018, experts in the security industry, including builders, journalists and architects, had the opportunity to vote for the best access control system based on their experience.

“To win a GIT SECURITY AWARD based on a vote by recognised security professionals makes us especially happy,” Benjamin Pflaum, Managing Director of ABUS Security-Center, explains. “With our ‘Winner’ product, access control, alarm and video surveillance can be interconnected very conveniently and securely, and it is even possible to use it to control other home automation functions.”

Founded in 2003, the GIT SECURITY AWARD became the first-ever award in the field of security. Out of all of the submitted innovations, a jury nominates a shortlist for presentation. In the next step, all market participants can vote for their favourites (except those from their own company). This year, the secret of who would climb the winners’ podium was unveiled on the first day of the Security trade fair in Essen (25-28/09/2018).
