Children’s helmets, helmets for urban environments and sports helmets – thanks to its expansive expertise and love for sport, ABUS is amongst the best in the world in the performance sector. After sharing in the success of the UCI Pro-Continental team BORA Argon18 as a helmet provider from 2015 to 2016, ABUS has enjoyed a winning partnership with the Spanish UCI WorldTeam Movistar Team since 2017. Now the Polish UCI mountain bike team KROSS Racing Team join the ranks, with a sponsorship commitment at the very peak of the cross-country mountain biking discipline.

Sustainable strategy in sports sponsorship

“ABUS is pursuing a stringent and sustainable strategy in its sports sponsorship. We are at once concerned with the securing and expansion of our position as a sporting helmet brand and with increasing awareness and popularity of the ABUS brand particularly in international markets," explains Christian Rothe from ABUS’ management team, setting out their objectives.

“Following on from our successful partnership with the Movistar team in the street racing discipline, the KROSS Racing Team in the off-road discipline fits perfectly into our strategy of being represented at the top of all cycling sport disciplines. Cycling is all about values such as team spirit, passion and ambition which is why it is so close to ABUS’ heart. Our customers benefit as our close cooperation with the world’s best teams results in the innovation of state-of-the art products. These products are not just reserved for the professionals, but can also provide amateur athletes with the peace of mind that comes with peak safety performance," adds Martin Böckelmann, Sponsoring Activation Manager at ABUS.

ABUS launches a new generation of helmets, optimised for mountain biking

Mountain biking is currently enjoying a boom, as more and more people discover a love for a more rugged set of wheels. MTB sporting events and the stars of the scene also spark a lot of interest. ABUS looks forward to working with the Swiss athlete Jolanda Neff (overall women's Mountain Bike World Cup winner in 2014 and 2015 and female Mountain Bike Marathon world champion in 2016) and the Pole Maja Wloszczowska, who regularly finishes on the podium in international competition. These peak performance athletes will test out the new ABUS MTB helmets under race conditions and will develop them in collaboration with ABUS engineers. The result will be next-level helmets for everyone who loves biking.
