AFFING – 6 February, 2017 – the wAppLoxx access control system received the international iF Design Award 2017 in the “Product” discipline, in the “Building Technology” category. In 2017, the iF Design Award received 5,575 entries from 59 different countries and is one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world.

The 58-person international jury was impressed by the flexibility, the ease of use as well as the security of the access control system. And with good reason - wAppLoxx enables multiple security technologies to be controlled in a single action: Access control, alarm and video surveillance. The door can be opened and closed comfortably from your home, or while on the go via web or app control. The encrypted peer-to-peer connection for data transmission offers the user uninterrupted ironclad security.

“We are very pleased to have been recognized with the iF Design Award, it is one of the most important product design awards in the world”, said Benjamin Pflaum, CEO of ABUS Security-Center. “Having already been named Best Product of the Year at the Plus X Awards, this is the second highly esteemed award for our wAppLoxx access control system.”

Since 1953, the iF Award has been awarded every year for exceptional products in the following disciplines: product, packaging, communication, interior architecture, professional concept, service design and architecture. Because the selection is made by a panel comprised of design and architecture experts, the awards enjoy international acclaim.
