    Description
    The concept that the IvyTex technology is based on, has already been in use for several years in industrial applications in areas subjected to high loads, where moving parts have to be protected against wear and tear.
    ABUS has taken advantage of this concept by using it in the sleeves for its chain locks. The effect of this is twofold: it provides protection against wear and tear, as well as preventing the chain from causing damage to the bicycle. IvyTex technology has many other benefits aside from its endurance. The hi-tech fabric is also durable and highly flexible, as well as being weatherproof and resistant to liquids. This prevents water from being absorbed by the fabric, thereby protecting the locks against corrosion. Its durability also means that there's no excuse for not securing your bicycle, even if the weather is bad and you worry about the lock getting dirty.

    Technologies

    • IvyTex technology: resistant Ivy plastic fibre coating – particularly functional, weatherproof, flexible and durable 
    • Square chain: 7 mm thick hardened steel chain 
    • High-quality anti-picking cylinder: classic ABUS lock cylinder for convenient operation with familiar key principle – two keys are included in the scope of delivery for unlocking  
    • Automatic locking: locks automatically and without key – simply insert the locking bolt into the lock body, no key is required for locking 
    • 360° bolt: round steel bolt engages reliably from any position – for greater convenience when locking up the bike, even in the dark 
    • Solid theft protection: offers good protection with ABUS security level 8 for medium theft risk and is recommended for securing good bikes
    • Tried and tested: the lock has been intensively tested for resistance to typical attempts to break it open – using tools such as bolt cutters, hammers or pliers 
    • Gentle on paintwork: resistant textile coating reliably protects the bike frame from scratches and damage to paintwork when locking up the bike and during transport

    Mounting and transportation

    • Convenient transport of the chain by wrapping around the seat post
    • Alternatively, the lock can be stowed in the bag, a rucksack or a suitable lock bag
    • Suitable bags for the IVERA Chain 7210K (length: 85 cm and 110 cm): Frame bags ST 5200, ST 2250 or the IVERA RBU bracket – available separately as accessories 

    Operation and use

    • Lock up flexibly: chain locks are particularly flexible and can be used to lock up bikes in tight spaces or hard-to-reach locations 
    • Different lengths: the chain lock is available in different lengths – the longer the lock chain, the larger the locking circumference 
    • Easy to transport: can be wrapped around the bike frame or rolled up and stored in a rucksack, handbag or bike bag

    Tips

    • The lock is weather-resistant and insensitive to liquids. This prevents water from being absorbed by the fabric, for example, and protects the locks from corrosion. So there is no reason not to secure your bike in inclement weather for fear of dirt.
    • The locks in the IvyTex series are available from specialist retailers in a wide variety of designs.
