The independent SKG testing institute confirms that ABUS meets this requirement with the Magtec locking system with the highest security class SKG***.

The innovative magnetic technology in the cylinder and on the key offers you particularly effective protection against illegal key copying and manipulation of the locking system. This includes, for example, picking and forcible breaking open by drilling or pulling the cylinder core.

Magtec System – Powerful magnetisation

The magnet embedded in the Magtec key provides reliable protection against unauthorised key duplicates, which can be produced using 3D printers and smart key-copying machines.

To meet your particularly high security requirements, Magtec achieves the highest security level in each of the categories of locking security, durability, corrosion resistance, fire resistance and tamper resistance, in accordance with the European standard DIN EN 1303. Furthermore, SKG*** certification is proof of the highest level of security – certified by an independent testing institute.

No problem! For maximum flexibility, the cylinder is fitted with modular ME technology. The cylinder’s length can be quickly adjusted to suit your new door at any time. This means you can respond quickly and flexibly to changes whenever they arise.

Targeted further development

Magtec combines innovative locking technology with clear progress throughout the product lifecycle – from raw materials and manufacturing, through to delivery to the customer and disposal at the end of the product’s life. Compared with a conventional ABUS Vitess profile cylinder, the functionally comparable ABUS Magtec profile cylinder generates 46 per cent** fewer greenhouse gas emissions, calculated in CO₂ equivalents, based on a ‘cradle-to-customer plus end-of-life’ assessment*. The difference is primarily attributable to the areas of raw materials and production. Furthermore, we do not use lead in the manufacture of Magtec cylinders.

*Emissions were taken into account across the following life cycle phases: extraction and pre-processing of raw materials and packaging, production, delivery of the product to the factory gates of ABUS specialist retail partners, as well as relevant disposal emissions from the product and packaging. The use phase was not included in the calculation.

One key for everything
How about if you only needed one key for all locks with a lock cylinder?
So that you can use one and the same key for your front door, letterbox, cellar door or even the padlock on the garden shed and your garage? With the Magtec locking system, this is possible. And you can set up access permissions for each family member or other people who are to be given a key. For example, someone could be granted access to the garage and the house, but not to the cellar or the letterbox. These individual permissions can be set up for every user of your private locking systems.
