    Description
    Sleep peacefully and have a good feeling of safety. The PREFIRA 5 with replaceable 5-year battery is a visually appealing smoke alarm for the living room, bedroom, children's room, hallway and also for the living area in a camper van -– designed for reliable fire safety.
    A smoke alarm is 85 decibels loud. This is because it should provide a clear warning in the event of danger from fire and smoke. But nobody wants to be startled by the shrill beep of a smoke alarm for no reason. The PREFIRA 5 therefore has two clever functions to prevent false alarms:
    • An insect protection screen around the smoke chamber prevents unwanted alarms caused insects crawling inside
    • The automatic recalibration of the smoke chamber compensates for soiling and thus reduces the risk of false alarms in the event of gradual dust accumulation.
    In addition, the EN 14604-certified smoke alarm impresses with its no-frills design and a convenient test button that covers almost the entire underside of the alarm. This makes it easy to operate and also easy to reach with an aid such as a broom handle. Practical for regular testing of the alarm.

    Technologies

    • Smoke alarm function: the alarm detects visible smoke particles in the air and triggers a loud alarm in the event of danger – for an early warning in the event of fires
    • Contamination compensation: thanks to recalibration of the smoke chamber, the alarm threshold is automatically adjusted to increasing contamination to effectively counteract false alarms caused by dust
    • Insect screen: a fine-meshed screen that prevents false alarms caused by insects and other small animals entering the smoke chamber
    • Translucent LED: for a pleasant lighting effect, the status LED is located under the housing of the alarm – for a harmonious look without glaring points of light
    • Large-area test button: almost the entire underside of the alarm serves as a button and can be reached quickly for a function test – with a broom handle or rod, for example
    • Mute: the alarm tone can be temporarily switched off by pressing the test button – the alarm remains active and issues an alarm again after 10 minutes if smoke is still detected
    • Battery: the alarm is equipped with 2 replaceable AAA batteries with a battery life of up to 5 years – smoke and heat alarms should be replaced after 10 years of use
    • Automatic self-test: silently checks the battery and sensors every 8 seconds
    • Acoustic and visual alarm: in the event of danger, the alarm issues a clearly audible warning with a loud alarm tone and by flashing the status LED
    • Simple screw mounting: the alarm's mounting plate is attached to the ceiling with screws and dowels (included in the scope of delivery)
    • Tested and certified in accordance with EN 14604:2005/AC:2008: the alarm fulfils the European standard for smoke alarms – certified by the KRIWAN test centre
