The Challenge
At the Amberhof, horse areas, access points, and security-sensitive rooms were to be secured equally. This included, in particular:
- comprehensive video surveillance of the stables, exercise areas, and access points to monitor the horses’ well-being at all times,
- an intelligent access control system that grants access to sensitive areas—such as stable aisles, tack rooms, and ancillary rooms—only to authorized personnel,
- as well as targeted monitoring of hay and straw storage areas to detect potential fire hazards early on.
Especially at an equestrian facility that offers rehabilitation and training services, it is crucial to maintain a clear overview at all times, control access in a targeted manner, and secure critical areas early on.
The Solution
A comprehensive safety concept was implemented for the Amberhof dressage stable, one that intelligently integrates several different trades:
Video surveillance of the entire facilitySelected cameras from our Professional Line reliably cover all relevant areas with high resolution, thereby providing the necessary transparency in day-to-day stable operations. The AI software from our partner ACARiS specifically analyzes the image data collected in selected zones, such as the broodmare area or among sensitive horses undergoing rehabilitation. This results in intelligent solutions that optimally combine traditional security with modern animal monitoring.
ABUS Access Control at Relevant EntrancesIn the central entrance areas as well as in sensitive zones such as the tack room and other functional spaces, an electronic access control solution from ABUS ensures that only authorized persons are granted access. Individually assigned access rights enable precise control of all movements on the premises—flexibly customizable for operators, employees, and boarders. This not only ensures the security of valuable equipment but also significantly enhances the protection of the horses and control over all security-relevant areas.
Early Detection in Hay and Straw Storage AreasReliable safety technology is also used to protect particularly sensitive storage areas: ABUS thermal differential detectors continuously monitor the hay and straw storage areas. Temperature changes are detected early, allowing potential fire hazards to be identified as soon as they arise. This significantly increases safety for animals, people, and infrastructure and provides an additional level of operational safety throughout the entire facility.
The Added Value
The security plan that has been implemented supports the Amberhof's operations in several ways:
- A better overview of horse areas, access points, and operational procedures
- Greater protection for animals, infrastructure, and high-quality equipment
- Controlled access to sensitive areas
- Early risk detection in storage areas at high risk of fire
- A professional level of security befitting a modern equestrian facility with high-quality standards
