The Opelbad in Wiesbaden, built in 1934 and renovated in 2018 at a cost of 1.1 million euros, offers a fantastic view over the city in addition to bathing fun and relaxation. Since a cost-intensive property damage, which was committed shortly after the renovation, high-quality ABUS technology is used for the protection of the outdoor pool.
CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
Shortly after its renovation in 2018, the Opelbad became the victim of vandalism. Apparently, several perpetrators went on a rampage in the outdoor pool, heaving benches and flower tubs into the water, destroying a cleaning device worth around 40,000 euros and leaving a picture of devastation in their wake. To protect against further unauthorized access and damage to property, the operators decided to use reliable and durable monitoring systems.

For high security and optimum protection, the operators of the Opelbad wanted surveillance cameras that would provide excellent images even in low light: they opted for four ABUS IP Tube 8 MPx cameras.

The WDR dynamic range and Ultra Low Light function ensure clear images in all lighting conditions.
The motorized zoom lens with a focal length of 2.8 - 12 mm (4.2x optical) overlooks a field of view of 35 - 115 degrees.
PROTECTED FROM WEATHER AND VANDALISM
The IP67-certified weatherproof housing makes the ABUS IP Tube 8 MPx ideally suited for outdoor use.
With an IK impact resistance rating of IK10, the housing offers reliable protection against external force such as vandalism.

On the southern slope of the Neroberg, between the Neroberg vineyard and the city forest, lies the idyllic Opelbad, completed in June 1934. At a height of about 80 meters above downtown Wiesbaden, it offers a fantastic view. In addition to a 65-meter stainless steel pool, visitors to the outdoor pool enjoy a water slide, a paddling pool for children, three table tennis tables, a beach volleyball court and a Finnish sauna.
