The KMCC was planned as a hotel with an adjacent mall on the US Air Base in Ramstein and is only open to people who are allowed to enter the air base. The built-in security technology from ABUS protects against unauthorised entry.

The facility, which opened in 2009, is a decisive improvement in the quality of life for the servicemen and women of the American base in Kaiserslautern. Visitors will find a comprehensive range of restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities on 80,000 m².
